Confidence running high for JPR Racing after third Brockville win of 2022

This season has been one of the best all time for Jessica Power, the driver of the number 52 DIRTcar Sportsman. Competing at both Can Am Speedway on Friday nights and Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday nights, Jessica and the team have seen much success in 2022.

This past weekend started off with a great night at the Can Am Speedway in Lafargeville New York. Jessica kicked off the night in dominant fashion by winning her qualifying heat race by over a straight away, which put her in a great starting spot for the feature.

In the 20 lap Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman event, Jessica had a spirited battle with Adams New York’s Brian Hudson as the two drivers pulled away from a quality field on this night. Power was all over the Hudson machine throughout the entire event, but after several attempts at getting by for the lead, the JPR Racing Team settled for their best Can Am finish of the season, with a 2nd place effort, in the caution free event.

The next night at Brockville it started off the same way as Friday, by winning the qualifying heat, which put Jessica fourth on the grid for the 25 lap DIRTcar Sportsman event.

From the drop of the green flag Power went right to work and charged to lead around Dan Ferguson. Once in front Jessica would open up an advantage on the field, that Ferguson and third place driver Shane Stearns couldn’t make up in time. Power drove 25 flawless laps and had no problems in lapped traffic as she scored her 2nd regular season win and third overall, including the make up Fall Nationals event in May.

“This is clearly our best season ever” Jessica said in victory lane in front a big crowd, “I’ve never won three times in one year at one track, this feels awesome”

She added that she’s got her eye on the big prize at the end of the season, the 2022 track championship.

With the win Jessica also gained points on defending track champion Bobby Herrington, making the team ready as ever, to try for back to back wins this weekend.

The team will once again be at Can Am and Brockville Friday and Saturday night. To keep up with everything happening with Jessica and the entire team, give them a follow on the team’s Facebook page.
